  • Die Gesellschaft bezweckt die Erarbeitung und Weiterentwicklung sowie die Anpassung und Pflege der für die leistungsbezogene Vergütung der stationären Behandlung einschliesslich Aufenthalt notwendigen gesamtschweizerischen Tarifstrukturen in Spitälern, Geburtshäusern und anderen Einrichtungen der stationären Behandlung oder der Durchführung von Massnahmen der medizinischen Rehabilitation. Dazu führt sie eine Geschäftsstelle (Case Mix Office CMO). Die Gesellschaft verfolgt mithin einen öffentlichen Zweck im Rahmen der schweizerischen Gesetzgebung über die Sozialversicherungen (Art. 49 Abs. 2 des Bundesgesetzes über die Krankenversicherung vom 18. März 1994 in der Fassung gemäss Ziff. I des BG vom 21. Dez. 2007 (Spitalfinanzierung), in Kraft seit 1. Jan. 2009). Sie dient auch den Zwecken des Vereins Medizinaltarif-Kommission UVG (MTK). Die Mittel der Gesellschaft sind dauerhaft diesem Zweck gewidmet. Die Gesellschaft ist nicht gewinnorientiert und schüttet keine Dividenden aus. Tantiemen dürfen keine ausgerichtet werden.
